October Newsletter

What We Are Learning...

Reading-  We will be looking at how details describing actions, thoughts, and feelings make stories more interesting in narratives.

Writing- We will be continuing our work on small moment stories.  Recounting a sequence of events using beginnings, endings, and details to describe actions, thought and feelings.

Math- Group 1 and 2 are currently both working on Chapter 3: Basic Facts and Relationships

Social Studies- We will be continuing to work on look at

Science- We will be continuing to work on soil, sand and silt.

Important Dates:

- Field trip to CMA (Children's Museum of Art) on Wednesday, October 26
Chaperones: Jack, Lola and Zak
* Please send in permission slips ASAP

- Oct. 21: Parent Breakfast with Mrs. Chang 9 a.m.

- Oct. 31 Character Parade @ 8:30 a.m.
10:00 a.m. will be our Halloween celebration in the classroom, all are welcome!

Sentences- Write each of your vocabulary words in a sentence.  (You may change the form of the word ex: allow- My mom allowed me to play on the computer after I finished my homework.
Wednesday
Match the Meaning, Completing the Sentence:
-      Choose the word from the box that matches the meaning in the clue.  Write the word on the line.
-      Choose the word from the box that best completes the sentence.  Write the word on the line.
